“I am very glad to get the opportunity to do a volunteer program in JCYCN. Mr.Tilottam Paudel guided me very clearly on how I can do social service in Nepal, he suggested and invited me to very good programs especially focusing on child rights. My first contribution was when I got the chance to give a hand on the 5th International Girl Child Summit in Kathmandu for 3 days, where different local, national and international organizations collaborated in the discussion about child marriage in the country.

Next time I got the opportunity to do volunteering was in Nawalparasi district, where the first Girl’s Summit was held and organized by JCYCN. My tasks were related to media person and some minor different things.

Later on, I did research and documentation on the survey of peace organisations working in youth development and peace building in JCYCN office at Kalanki, Kathmandu. Lastly, I did some more research and planning of an event especially designed for the overall development of youths in Nepal.

Something unofficial and directly from my heart is that this whole experience was an unforgettable and best time in Nepal for me, especially due to Tilottam sir, who gave me the chance to go to Nawalparasi and Chitwan, where I met old friends and came to know the different child problems to be solved with joining hands. Another memorable thing is Debaki mam’s delicious food and Trideb brother’s very cute actions. Tilottam sir always put his caring hand on me at every phase of my experience, and kept guiding me for more. I won’t forget his peace slogan of “let’s do more”. Everything learnt here is going to guide me throughout life. I am so much thankful to JCYCN for everything. May God grant them longevity with prosperity as their work is always for noble causes”.
